SAN ANTONIO, TX — The 43rd Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio is shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of music and culture, with exciting announcements from the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. The winning poster for the 2025 festival has been revealed, showcasing a tribute to Conjunto legend Flaco Jiménez. Additionally, the full line-up of performers and festival details have been shared, offering music lovers a chance to experience the best in conjunto music from May 15-18, 2025, at Rosedale Park.

The prestigious Tejano Conjunto Festival Poster Contest, which invites artists of all ages to submit designs for the festival’s marketing materials, has a rich history of celebrating the region’s vibrant music scene. This year’s winner is San Antonio native Robert Sosa, marking a full-circle moment for the artist. Sosa previously won the contest in 1983 and 1985, with his artwork honoring Conjunto pioneer Don Santiago Jiménez Sr. Now, he returns with a stunning tribute to Don Santiago’s son, Grammy Award winner Flaco Jiménez, a third-generation Conjunto musician and an iconic figure in Tex-Mex and Conjunto music.

Cristina Ballí, executive director of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, expressed her excitement about this year’s submissions: “We once again received an incredible array of heartfelt submissions from artists of all ages. This year’s winning poster beautifully captures the essence of this living legend and the vibrant spirit of our one-of-a-kind music tradition.”

In addition to Sosa’s winning design, the contest also recognized outstanding submissions in multiple categories. Among the other winners were:

Open Category: Carolina Flores (1st Place), Dr. Hector Garza (2nd Place)
College Category: Roman Gonzales (1st Place), Monserrat Silva-Lopez (Honorable Mention)
High School Category: Gabriela Gaona (1st Place), Gianna Barbosa (Honorable Mention)
Middle School Category: Lydia Ireland (1st Place), GenesisElisia Pinkney (Honorable Mention)

The 43rd Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival will feature an impressive line-up of performances throughout the weekend. Starting with a Senior Dance at Progreso Hall on May 15 with music from Eddie “Lalo” Torres and Conjunto Kingz de Flavio Longoria.

The festivities will kick into full swing on May 16 at Rosedale Park with performances from Los Fantasmas Del Valle, Eva Ybarra y su Conjunto Siempre, Los Alacranes de Daví Flores, Boni Mauricio, Santiago Garza y la Naturaleza, and Ricky Naranjo y los Gamblers.

Saturday, May 17 will see the addition of student conjuntos from the Rio Grande Valley, followed by performances from Viva Tejana Dance Company, Mambito y los Champs, Jesse Perez y sus Compadres Alegres, Cindy Ramos y su Conjunto, Gilberto Perez Jr. y sus Compadres, The Delta Boyz, Los Cucuys de Rodney Rodriguez, and Los Monarcas de Pete y Mario Diaz, Lazaro Perez, Los Garcia Bros, and Ruben De La Cruz y su Conjunto.

Sunday, May 18 will bring even more incredible performances, including Conjunto Heritage Taller, Southside High School, Edison High School, Ramon Lucio y Dominante, Linda Escobar, Los Tellez, Conjunto Senzzible, Los Arcos Hermanos Peña, Los Texmaniacs, Ruben Garza y su Conjunto, and Jaime De Anda.

In addition to these exciting musical performances, the festival will continue its tradition of bringing together generations of fans to celebrate the rich legacy of conjunto music. Tickets are currently available for purchase, with three-day passes priced at $50, and individual tickets for each day of the festival ranging from $15 to $25. Children under 12 years old can attend for free.

The 43rd Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival also marks a milestone with the appointment of Mariaelena Villarreal as the new Tejano Conjunto Festival Coordinator. Villarreal, an award-winning Tejano Nation photojournalist with a deep connection to the Tejano and Conjunto music communities, will help to ensure the continued success of this landmark festival.
