Powerhouse vocalist Beatriz Gonzalez sat down with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo to talk about her highly anticipated new EP, Sanando El Cora, which officially drops tonight across all digital platforms. “Actually, it’s dropping tonight,” Gonzalez told Romeo. “I posted it for Friday, but usually the streaming services drop it around 11. So yeah, tonight it drops like it’s hot.”

The five-track EP is Gonzalez’s most personal project to date, blending Tejano, Norteño, and fresh sounds inspired by her own life experiences. “It’s a long time coming,” she admitted. “Some of these songs I wrote years ago, but it just wasn’t the right time. The EP is called Sanando El Cora, and it’s pretty much five songs that resonate with me — emotional vulnerability and just things I’ve been through.”

Three of the tracks—Me Propuse, Qué Lástima, and Quédate—are originals penned by Gonzalez, while the other two are powerful Spanish-language translations, including the EDM-inspired Tattoo and a Tejano/Norteño spin on Post Malone’s global hit Better Now. “These songs helped me heal in some way,” she said. “As artists, that’s what we do: we heal the heart by writing, recording, and expressing what we feel. And I hope it helps other people too.”

In the interview, Gonzalez also discussed her production team, her independent label Palabra Records, and how the project reflects her growth as both an artist and producer. “It might be a small team, but it’s quality over quantity,” she emphasized. “At the end of the day, you gotta love yourself more than you love somebody else in order to be able to love at all. These songs are part of my healing, and I just hope they help somebody else too.”
