Jesse Peralez, a Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame musician, passed away on January 31, leaving a profound void in the Tejano music community. Peralez was known for his exceptional saxophone playing as an original member of La Mafia, one of the most influential bands in the genre. He also played with other notable groups, including Xelencia and Magnifico Siete. Beyond his remarkable performance skills, Peralez was also a gifted songwriter whose music transcended the traditional Tejano sound.
“Jesse’s passion for music was evident in every note he played,” said David DeAnda. “This reunion is not just about performing — it’s about honoring Jesse’s legacy and the incredible impact he had on all of us.”
