On February 26, 1995, a sold-out crown of more than 61,000 fans gathered at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to witness the “Queen of Cumbia” deliver an unforgettable show—one that would tragically become her last major concert before her untimely passing.

Less than five weeks later, on March 31, 1995, Selena’s life was tragically cut short at just 23 years old. However, her influence has only grown with time. In 2020, the Houston Rodeo inducted her into the Star Trail of Fame, cementing her place in its history as the first Latina recipient. Artists such as Becky G, Cardi B, Kacey Musgraves, and Camila Cabello have paid tribute to Selena at the rodeo over the years, ensuring that new generations continue to celebrate her music
