José Luis Garza Jr., known in the music world as José, is a multifaceted artist who has dedicated his life to raising awareness about Tejano and Conjunto culture through his music and business ventures. José is a passionate musician, singer, songwriter, businessman, and an integral member of the renowned band Feroz. With deep Mexican roots and an impressive lineage of over 140 combined years of Tejano and Conjunto experience, José proudly embraces his heritage in every aspect of his career.
Raised in a family steeped in musical tradition, José’s journey into the world of music began at the young age of 13 when he started performing with his father’s band, Conjunto Central de José Luis Garza Sr., playing bass guitar. This early exposure to the heart of Tejano and Conjunto music sparked a lifelong commitment to preserving and promoting the genre. Over the years, José’s musical versatility has led him to perform as a vocalist and musician for several well-known bands, including Marky Lee Riojas y Grupo Caliente, Alejandro Deleon y Los Cuatro Vatos Locos (Joey Records), Grupo Ajeno (famous for their hit song “Palabras Triestes”), and Grupo Acero (known for “De Rodias Te Pido”). Today, José Garza Jr. continues to perform with Feroz, playing his favorite instrument, the Bajo Quinto.

José’s efforts extend beyond performing music; he is a dedicated advocate for the preservation of Tejano and Conjunto heritage, focusing on empowering the next generation of musicians. His production company works tirelessly to ensure that artists are properly promoted and that the legacy of this vibrant culture is passed on to future generations.
One of José’s most significant contributions to the genre is his debut solo single “Hasta Nunca” in 2017, a heartfelt song featuring Stefani Montiel. The accompanying music video tells the story of a difficult breakup, but also highlights the healing power of music and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. The song resonated deeply with fans, particularly those who have experienced the emotional challenges of divorce, emphasizing the crucial role fathers play in their children’s lives even after separation.
