On February 15, 2025, during his performance at Winter’s Bar in Pasadena, Texas, Herrera dropped to one knee and asked for Estrada’s hand in marriage. The proposal was a perfect blend of romance and surprise, taking place just days after Valentine’s Day. Ram Herrera’s musical journey spans over four decades, cementing his place as a pillar of Tejano music. Born Ramiro “Ram” Herrera, he first rose to fame in the early 1980s as a vocalist of David Lee Garza y Los Musicales. Herrera’s smooth voice and undeniable stage presence quickly made him a standout, and he soon ventured out on his own, founding the band Ramiro Herrera y Montana.
Herrera’s success continued to grow as he signed with Sony Music and released his groundbreaking solo debut, Most Wanted Man, in 1986. The album, which was his first in English, went gold and became a classic in the Tejano genre. His third album, The Outlaw (1989), solidified his reputation as one of the genre’s leading artists and gave rise to his band, The Outlaws.
