Tejano Highway 281 has just released the latest track in their popular 281 Conjunto Jam “Buckle Up and Crank It Up” series, titled “Buckle Up and Crank It Up #10” featuring Bobby Salinas Sr. This new single is a heartfelt tribute to the legendary conjunto band, Los Dos Gilbertos.

Band leader Chris Rodriguez shared the exciting news on the TV show “Domingo Live” with host Rudy Trevino. “I’m excited because, you know, we got a new single out and it’s on fire right now,” Rodriguez said. “We’ve got a series of Buckle Up and Crank It Ups, right? So we’re on number 10 right now. And it’s an homenaje a Los Dos Gilbertos. You know, Bobby Salinas sang on it. And Los Dos Gilbertos, they’re a legendary conjunto band. I always wanted to do something kind of like with them or in that style, you know what I mean? So, and who better than Bobby Salinas? Bobby was with them for many, many years.”

Rodriguez also mentioned that he is currently producing music with his label, Tejano Powerhouse Records, including collaborations with artists like Margarita and Krystalina. “A lot of people always ask me, like, when is 2-8-1 going to put something out? And I said, you know what, I’m going to pay more attention to my artists, to me, myself, you know what I mean? And you know, I got together with Margie here and Krystal and we did something really, really cool. I did a collaboration album like a couple of years back. So what I’m doing now is I’m doing the 2-8-1 Studio Sessions for Tune. So now it’s just all collaborations.”

The new project is expected to be released in a couple of months. In the meantime, fans can enjoy “Buckle Up and Crank It Up #10” featuring Bobby Salinas, Sr., which is now available on digital music platforms. If you love conjunto music, gritos, and good ol’ beer-drinking and dancing music, then you’ll definitely love this jam!
