David Ledesma, a rising star in the Tejano music scene, has announced the cancellation of his debut performance as a solo artist. The singer shared the news via social media, expressing his deep disappointment and the necessity of addressing personal matters that require his immediate attention.

“I’m deeply saddened to announce that I have to cancel my first show as a solo artist. This decision was not made lightly, and I am truly disappointed. Unfortunately, I am facing some very personal matters that require my immediate attention and care within these next few weeks. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my incredible band, who have put in so much hard work during rehearsals, and to all the fans who have shown their love and suppor,” he said. “I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but I promise to reschedule the show. We will be back on top of things soon. And we are still in the studio getting this EP out. That’s one thing that isn’t stopping. We’re still on schedule to release end of year or the very beginning of next. As always thank you to my team the band and producer and writing team Valentino Z. Maltos, Jose Rosario Gonzalez, and Rosie Allison Villa for all their support and hard work. I’ll see you soon you can bet on it.”

Ledesma was scheduled to debut at Stetson Bar in San Antonio on October 3. The singer recently made the decision to work on a solo project after spending eight years with La Dezz, a band with his brothers Mark Ledesma and Richie Ledesma, along with Lisa Mar. He released his debut solo single “Quedate Conmigo” in July.

During an interview with Bumper’s Wacky Wednesday podcast, David opened up about his decision to pursue a solo career. He reflected on his time with La Dezz and expressed his desire to explore his own music. “We’ve been doing La Dezz for about eight years, you know, that we’ve been together. And sometimes you want to do your own music, do a little bit of something different, you know what I’m saying?” David told host Bumper Gomez. He emphasized that his decision to go solo was not due to any disagreements or conflicts within the band. “My brother supports me, man, you know, everything, there’s no bad blood. There’s no beef. I mean, he understood.”

David’s new single, “Quedate Conmigo”, is the first glimpse of his upcoming solo project. He shared his excitement about the project and his plans for a full album. “I’m currently working on an album right now. I got the one song out, ‘Quedate Conmigo’ is the first single off the album that’s coming out. And we will have either an EP, just depending on how many songs we’re going to make, but it will be a full production. It’ll be done by the end of the year, hopefully, if not the very beginning of the year, next year. We got about three or four in the chamber right now, and we’re working on a couple more.”

With “Quedate Conmigo”, David Ledesma is stepping into a new phase of his musical career. His fans and the Tejano music community eagerly await the release of his full album. Stay tuned for more updates on David Ledesma’s solo journey.
