The legendary Tejano band Tortilla Factory, led by Alfredo Guerrero, son of the late founder Tony “Ham” Guerrero, has released the official music video for their latest single, “Prieta Linda.” This classic song, famously recorded by Little Joe Y La Familia, among others, has been given a fresh update with the addition of the signature accordion from legend David Lee Garza.
Alfredo Guerrero shared exclusive details with Tejano Nation about this historic collaboration. “It’s the first time Tortilla Factory has ever used an accordion, and my dad always wanted to record with David Lee Garza because he admired his playing. Unfortunately, my dad passed away before it could happen, so I decided to make it a reality. The result is incredible,” said Alfredo. “Prieta Linda” holds a special place in Alfredo’s heart, as it was a song his father often dedicated to his mother.
Produced by Art Guillermo, the track features a standout solo by David Lee Garza. “We opened up a section in the middle of the song for David to take a solo, and he really put his heart and soul into it. He’s excited about the official video being released today as well,” Alfredo added.
The music video, directed by award-winning director Lupe Moya, was partially filmed at the luxurious home of entrepreneur and philanthropist Tom Ramsey. “Tom is a huge Tejano fan and graciously allowed us to use his beautiful home for the shoot. He’s also doing amazing philanthropy work with his new tequila brand, Subele, with all proceeds going to people in need,” Alfredo shared.
The video features model Claudia Gallegos and the band led by Wild Bill Perkins. Fans can look forward to Tortilla Factory’s upcoming 50th anniversary album, which will include collaborations with many renowned producers like Gilbert Velasquez, Mario Ortiz, Gabriel Zavala, and Hugo Guerrero. “We’re about two or three months away from the official release. It’s a big landmark for Tortilla Factory, and the album will be called the 50th anniversary album with Tortilla Factory and Friends,” Alfredo revealed.
