As the 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards approach, the excitement within the Tejano music community is evident. This year, the prestigious event returns to Miami, Florida, the city where The Latin Recording Academy’s journey began, and its headquarters remain. The awards ceremony will be held at the Kaseya Center on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, marking the third time the Latin GRAMMYs have been hosted in Miami. The first was in 2003, and the second in 2020, when the show was closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Since our first awards presentation in the year 2000, the Latin GRAMMYs have provided an international spotlight for Latin music second to none and provided iconic performances that have become part of global music and pop culture history. We are thrilled to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Miami,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. “Miami has evolved to become the epicenter of Latin entertainment and we are grateful for the community support and enthusiasm we have received.”
The three-hour telecast, produced by TelevisaUnivision, will air live on Univision, Galavisión, and ViX, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central), preceded by a one-hour pre-show starting at 7 p.m. ET/PT. Latin GRAMMY Week events will take place throughout Miami-Dade County, including Leading Ladies of Entertainment, the Best New Artist Showcase, Special Awards Presentation, Nominee Reception, Person of the Year, and the Premiere Ceremony, preceding the telecast.
Among the highly anticipated categories is Best Tejano Album, featuring a stellar lineup of nominees:
El Plan – “Imperfecto”: Known for their dynamic sound and heartfelt lyrics, El Plan has captivated audiences with “Imperfecto.” This album showcases their ability to blend traditional Tejano rhythms with contemporary influences, creating a unique and engaging listening experience. This the Monterrey, Mexico-based band’s fifth Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album, winning in 2021.

Gabriella Martinez – “Siempre Gabriella”: A rising star in the Tejano music scene, Gabriella Martinez earns her first Latin GRAMMY nomination with “Siempre Gabriella.” Her powerful vocals and emotive performances have quickly garnered her a dedicated fanbase. This album is a testament to her talent and potential to become a leading figure in Tejano music.

Vilax – “Ganas (Deluxe)”: Villax brings a fresh and energetic approach to Tejano music with “Ganas (Deluxe).” Their innovative style and catchy melodies have made them a favorite among fans. This album highlights their versatility and commitment to pushing the boundaries of the genre. This is the Mexico-based group’s third Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album.
