Three-time GRAMMY winner Sunny Sauceda is back and ready to close out the summer with a fiery new track, “Hot Sauce.” Collaborating with the well-respected Sundance Head and Stormy Cooper, Sunny blends his deep South San Antonio roots with his signature accordion sound to create a song that is as vibrant as he is. “Hot Sauce” is the perfect soundtrack for cruising with the windows down, turning up the volume, and singing along to every note.

The track was recorded at Stormy Cooper Studio. Producers are Stormy CooperSundance Head, and Azteca Ranch Music. Musicians include Alan HuffJason Brossard, and Cooper, who all play with Texas Country star Roger Creager.

“It’s pretty cool and they’re the real deal,” Sauceda tells Tejano Nation. “Sundance played the guitars and did the background vocals. Sundance and I wrote the song called ‘Hot Sauce.’ We were originally gonna call it ‘Redneck Mexican,’ but they were like, it might be a little too insensitive, so we went with ‘Hot Sauce.’ ‘Hot Sauce’ actually fits better. There’s a line in the song that says, ‘I’m a redneck squeeze box Mexican,’ and that sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s such a cool line, and I’m super stoked, super excited.”

The song came out of a phone call between Stormy Cooper and Sunny Sauceda, with Cooper suggesting a studio collaboration with Sundance Head. “It was just a great combination,” said Sunny. “The beautiful part about it was their nod to me as Texas Country aficionados. This was their gift to me. They produced it and said, ‘Here, we’re doing this out of love for you, Sunny. We don’t even want to get paid for this. We love you.’ That’s the beauty of it. Literally, he sat in the lobby and said, ‘Sunny, this is our gift to you.’ I was choked up. I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t believe it. Nobody does that. That’s never happened to me. It was really cool.”

Sunny shared that the song is about his life, making friends everywhere he goes. “If you make friends everywhere you go, you’re never alone in life. It’s so true. It’s just the way the world works. The song talks about me growing up in the country and doing things that nobody would have ever imagined me doing. It’s incredible. This song is more on the rocker side. It’s kind of Texas country, but it’s more on the rocker side. We’re coming in hot with this single, ‘Hot Sauce.’ And at the same time, I’m literally working on a hot sauce myself.”

Sunny also shared that he plans to release his own brand of hot sauce in the future. An official music video for “Hot Sauce” is scheduled for release soon.
