A Texas man named Andrew Longoria will attempt to etch his name into the Guinness World Records on June 29th, 2024. His claim to fame? An impressive memorabilia collection dedicated to the Queen of Tejano music, Selena.

Longoria, a devoted fan of Selena, has amassed approximately 1,300 pieces of memorabilia over the years, a collection he has meticulously documented on his Instagram page. His passion for collecting was ignited by his grandmother, an Elvis Presley enthusiast, whose own collection inspired him. It’s a collection years in the making, ever since Longoria and his grandmother first purchased Selena’s “Dreaming of You” CD in 1997.

“I was 5 years old when I got the album,” Longoria told KXAN-TV in 2023. “So to know how long I’ve been a fan and been collecting — it’s pretty phenomenal, to be perfectly honest.”

The world record attempt will occur at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The address is 249 Circle Way, Lake Jackson, TX 77566, USA.
