Two-time Hall of Fame singer Stefani Montiel is set to be honored on April 23 by the State of Texas, marking a monumental moment in her over 30-year journey as a Tejano artist and a proud Texan, for the singer originally from New Mexico.

Montiel expressed her gratitude for the recognition from the Texas Music Office and the Office of the Governor for her contributions to Tejano Music and Texas Music. “This prestigious honor holds a special place in my heart, as it not only celebrates my passion for music but also acknowledges the rich cultural heritage and vibrant musical landscape of our beloved state,” she said.

What makes this moment even more extraordinary is that Montiel is a female Tejano artist receiving this esteemed accolade. “It fills my heart with joy and pride to be able to pave the way for future generations of female artists in our amazing Tejano music industry,” she added.

In honor of this momentous occasion, the flag at the State Capitol in Austin, Texas, will be flown in Montiel’s honor. This gesture, she says, is something she will forever cherish, knowing that her music has touched the lives of so many across the Lone Star State and beyond.

Montiel extended her heartfelt thanks to all who have supported her on this journey. “Your unwavering love and encouragement have been the driving force behind my music, and I am eternally grateful for each and every one of you,” she said.

Stefani Montiel is one of the most versatile and accomplished artists in the Tejano music scene. She has been performing since she was five years old and has won numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, including an induction to the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame and New Mexico Music Hall of Fame in 2022.

As we celebrate this moment together, we honor the rich tapestry of Tejano music and the vibrant spirit of Texas. Today, as the flag flies, Montiel will be thinking of each and every one of us who has been a part of this incredible journey. Let’s join her in celebrating this momentous occasion and the vibrant culture of Tejano music.
