Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 7, at 7:30 p.m. as the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, guided by Music Director David Cho, presents a concert in honor of Selena, the legendary Queen of Tejano Music. Joining them on this special night is Isabel Marie Sánchez, the acclaimed 2016 Tejano Music Awards winner for Best New Female Artist.
The concert will showcase some of Selena’s most beloved songs, including “Dreaming of You,” “Como la Flor,” “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” “No Me Queda Más,” and “I Could Fall in Love.” Tickets, starting at $33, will be available from Tuesday, April 16 at lubbocksymphony.org or by phone at 806-762-1688.

Spotlight on Isabel Marie Sánchez
Isabel Marie Sánchez, an American Tejano singer, first gained recognition through singing and dancing competitions. Her career took off during the third season of La Voz Kids, catching the eye of record executive Abraham Quintanilla. Her debut album, New Girl in Town, released in 2016, received both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Sánchez, the second youngest-ever winner of the Tejano Music Award for Best New Female Artist, has continued to shine. Her second album, Sìgueme, was nominated for Album of the Year, and her third album, Xoxo – Hugs and Kisses, enjoyed commercial success. Sánchez, a Latin Grammy nominee for Best Tejano Album, has been honored by the Texas House of Representatives and is active in supporting charitable and non-profit organizations. She has paid tribute to Selena in concerts with several orchestras, including the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.
