La Mafia to replace Grupo Duelo at Noche Del Vaquero show after accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Fans of Grupo Duelo who were looking forward to seeing them perform at the Noche Del Vaquero show on Sunday, February 18, 2024, will have to wait for another opportunity. The popular band from Texas, was involved in an accident on their way to San Antonio, where the show was scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Frost Bank Center.

The members of Grupo Duelo were involved in a car accident en route to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in Texas, in the early hours of Sunday, February 18. The accident occurred on the Monterrey – Reynosa highway, shortly after their performance at the Arena Monterrey. The band members and crew suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo announced that La Mafia, the legendary Tejano group from Houston, Texas, will be replacing Grupo Duelo as the headliner for the Noche Del Vaquero show. La Mafia is known for their hits such as “Me Estoy Enamorando”, “Un Millón de Rosas”, and “Vida”. They have won two Grammy Awards and two Latin Grammy Awards in their career.

The Noche Del Vaquero show is a special performance designed to celebrate South Texas culture and music. It is not a PRCA Rodeo event. Tickets for the show are still available at Ticketmaster or at the Frost Bank Center box office. Ticket holders who wish to exchange or refund their tickets due to the change of lineup can contact the ticket office at 210-985-4748.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo expressed their sympathy and support for Grupo Duelo and wished them a speedy recovery. They also thanked La Mafia for stepping in on short notice and apologized for any inconvenience caused to the fans.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo runs from February 8 to February 25, 2024, at the Fairgrounds. It features livestock shows, rodeo competitions, carnival rides, live entertainment, food vendors, and more.
