Pop superstar Taylor Swift donated a total of $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was identified as the woman killed during the shooting that took place at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday (February 14).
Swift, 34, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, made two donations of $50,000 to a GoFundMe launched to provide Lopez-Galvan's family with financial support following her tragic death.
"Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift," the singer wrote in the 'Words of support' section of the fundraiser along with her two large donations.
Swift, who flew from Japan back to the United States to attend Super Bowl LVIII, was not in attendance for the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade as she had landed in Australia hours prior ahead of her 'Eras Tour' concerts in Melbourne this week. Lopez-Galvan, a DJ and co-host for a local nonprofit Tejano radio station, was identified as the lone person killed during the shooting, which also resulted in 22 other injuries, with at least half of the victims reported to be under the age of 16, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said via ABC News.
Graves said the shooting appeared to have stemmed from a dispute between several people in an update on Thursday (February 15) via ESPN. Fire Chief Ross Grundyson confirmed that eight victims were reported to have sustained critical injuries and seven were in serious condition.
Three people -- including two juveniles -- were detained and multiple firearms were recovered at the scene. The Chiefs were celebrating their third Super Bowl victory in the past five years days after defeating the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22, in overtime during Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday (February 11), having previously defeated San Francisco, 31-20, in Super Bowl LIV and repeating as champions following last year's Super Bowl win against the Philadelphia Eagles.
