Juan Treviño Nominated for Best Tejano Album at the 24th Latin Grammys

Juan Treviño, one of the most prominent voices in Tejano music, has been nominated for the Best Tejano Album category at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards. The Houston-based artist received the nomination for his latest album “Para Empezar A Amar”, a collection of 12 songs that showcase his talent as a composer and performer.

Treviño, who won the Latin GRAMMY for Best Regional Mexican Song in 2017 for “Siempre Es Así”, expressed his gratitude and excitement for this new recognition. He also thanked his label Penfo Music, co-producer Carlos Álvarez, and the Latin Recording Academy members for their support.

“The truth is I am speechless, knowing that all the effort, all the affection, all the love that I put into this production was valued and accepted by all the members of the Recording Academy. Thanks to the entire team at my label Penfo Music, and to my brother and co-producer Carlos Álvarez. This is really is a blessing from God,” said Treviño.

“Para Empezar A Amar” reflects Treviño’s passion for showcasing unique lyrics and acoustic guitars in a fusion of Tejano and Norteño, as well as his versatility and creativity as a songwriter. The songs range from romantic ballads to upbeat cumbias, with lyrics that speak of love, heartbreak, and hope.

Treviño is also the recipient of the “Songwriter of The Year 2023” Award by Premios Tejano Mundial, a prestigious recognition that honors his contribution to Tejano music. Treviño has written songs for many artists in the genre, such as La MafiaSiggnoJay PerezElida Reyna, and many more.

The 23rd annual Latin Grammy Awards will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Univision at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT). Treviño will compete against other nominees in the Best Tejano Album category, such as Gary Hobbs, Jay Perez, Proyecto Insomnio, and Vilax.
