The Tejano Music Awards, the premier event celebrating the best of Tejano culture and music, has announced two more performers for its 43rd edition. Destiny Navaira and Mike Gonzalez & The Iconiczz will take the stage at the Boeing Center and Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
Destiny Navaira is the niece of the late Tejano legend Emilio Navaira and the daughter of Raulito Navaira, both Grammy-winning artists. She has been making waves in the Tejano scene with her powerful vocals and catchy songs, such as “Inolvidable”, “Dime Como Se Siente” and “Contigo Sin Ti”. She has won several Tejano Music Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Best New Female Artist.
Mike Gonzalez & The Iconiczz are a new generation of Tejano musicians who blend traditional sounds with modern influences. Mike Gonzalez is the son of Jimmy Gonzalez, the co-founder and leader of the iconic Grupo Mazz. He inherited his father’s talent and passion for music and formed his own band in 2018. The Iconiczz released their debut album, Te Llevo En Mi Alma, earlier this year featuring the hit single “Mi Necesidad”.
These two artists join the star-studded lineup of performers for the 43rd Tejano Music Awards, including Siggno, Joe Lopez, Ricardo Castillon Y La Diferenzia, Isabel Marie Sanchez, Angelica Y Moneda, Grupo Asalto, Suenatron and Paula DeAnda with Tortilla Factory. The event will also honor the lifetime achievements of singer Joe Lopez and legendary songwriter Humberto “Beto” Ramon.
The Tejano Music Awards are presented by the Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Tejano music and culture. The event attracts thousands of fans from across the country and around the world, who enjoy a night of live music, awards, and entertainment.
