Tejano newcomer Ruby Anne teamed with Reggateon rapper WC for the remix of “Ay, Dios Mio,” her cumbia version of the 2020 international hit song from Karol G.
Ruby Anne is a huge fan of the Colombian singer and loved “Ay, Dios Mio” since the first time she heard it. The Brownsville, Texas, native released the original cumbia version in February 2023, which quickly found a spot on many radio charts. Shortly after the release, WC contacted Ruby Anne for an opportunity to remix the track. The duo performed it together at the All-Star Music Awards last May in San Antonio, where Ruby Anne earned Top 5 in the Best Uprising Female category.

Ruby Anne loves her music videos to be unique. Her screenwriter husband Carlos Garcia brought her vision to life with the help of award-winning director Ryan Bazan.
The concept of the video is about two guys, her real-life husband Carlos and his friend (WC), as they’re hanging out at the South Padre beach and Ruby Anne and her friend, special guest TikToker Joann Jeanette, who is also Ruby Anne’s back up dancer, are walking by and that the guys are trying to get their attention. It’s about love and how the two were finally able to get together at a car show that features a local car club, Brownsville Classics. There’s even a shot of Selena’s boombox for inspiration for Tejano music as the saying goes, “Anything for Selenas.”
Ruby Anne can’t wait to get back in the studio to start working on her next single and putting things in motion for her third annual Christmas toy drive.
