Tejano supergroup La Mafia is celebrating 43 years in the music industry this year. The Houston-based band is touring the U.S. and Mexico on the Celebrando La Vida Tour 2023. The Grammy-winning group released a live concert album last month, Live In Mexico, Vol. 2.

The album was recorded live in Monterrey, Mexico at the Citibanamex Arena in 2018 and is the follow-up to Live In Mexico, which won a Latin Grammy for Best Tejano Album in 2020. The new album features 11 classic hits including two live duets with Spanish singer Shaila Dúrcal, “Qué Haré Yo” and “Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez,” and a duet with Mexican singer and actor Yahir, “Estás Tocando Fuego.” The album is available to stream or download on all digital music platforms.

La Mafia’s legacy can be traced back to 1980 when the group was formed with Oscar De La Rosa and Armando Lichtenberger Jr. at a cantina owned by De La Rosa’s father playing hardcore Tejano tunes.
