DJ Sancho found guilty on three counts of indecency with a child

LUBBOCK, TX — Electro-Cumbia artist DJ Sancho was found guilty on three counts of indecency with a child on Friday by a Lubbock jury.

DJ Sancho, also known as Carlos Sanchez, was accused of indecency with two girls, one being younger than 14 years old, the 37-year-old DJ and producer was originally indicted in October 2019 and re-indicted in November.

The arrest warrant for Sanchez contains witness statements that accused him of pressuring the under-14-year-old into consuming alcohol, getting into bed with her, touching her breasts, and encouraging her to take off her bra. He was also accused of touching a girl under the age of 17 inappropriately below the waist, over her clothing.

EverythingLubbock.com reports it took the jury just less than an hour to find Sanchez guilty on all counts. He could face up to 20 years in prison. His punishment was to be decided on Tuesday.

The Lubbock, Texas-based artist was a rising star in electro-cumbia, one of the fastest-growing music genres. DJ Sancho rose to fame with the release of the hit song “Tokyo Cumbia” in 2013. His last release was “Mi Vida Loca” in May 2019.
