South TX Homies have postponed their scheduled show in San Antonio this week due to an “unforeseen medical issue,” according to a statement.
The Latin GRAMMY-nominated Conjunto group made the announcement via social media on Sunday (Jan. 15). “This one is hard to post….Due to an unforeseen medical issue, we will have to postpone this show for another date,” said the Instagram post. “We send our apologies to all our San Antonio fans and everyone that was making plans to attend for the inconvenience.”
South TX Homies were scheduled to perform at Smoke BBQ+Skybar in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, January 19. Ricky Naranjo Y Los Gamblers will perform at the outdoor venue instead, Smoke BBQ+Skybar announced on Monday (Jan. 16).
The unforeseen medical issue has to do with South TX Homies accordionist Anthony Trevino, who shared the band’s announcement and commented, “This one is on me….My sincere apologies….Hoping for a speedy recovery.” No further details were given on the medical issue.
A new date for the postponed show is expected to be announced soon.
South TX Homies burst on the scene in January 2020 and released their debut album It’s Time a few months later, an album that earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album. The conjunto features former members of The Hometown Boys including Trevino, who released their sophomore album Una Promesa last year.
