Grupo Siggno has placed their current tour on hold as frontman Jesse Turner takes time off a week after a medical scare that required a trip to a medical center in an ambulance.

The Latin Grammy-winning musician was unable to move out of bed on the morning of July 4 and eventually received medical care from his family physician for spinal stenosis, a condition he’s had for many years. Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spaces within the spine, which can put pressure on the nerves that travel through the spine. Symptoms include back and/or neck pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness in the arms and legs. Treatments are self-care remedies, physical therapy, medications, injections, and surgery.

Grupo Siggno is currently on tour with Grupo Bronco and the tour had scheduled dates in Philadelphia and Newburgh, New York, this past weekend, but Siggno was not able to perform.

Turner stated via Instagram on Monday (July 11), “I wasn’t able to board the plane on Saturday to Philadelphia due to the pain in my lower back. I have 2 herniated disc and my Spinal Stenosis is in full effect, but that doesn’t keep me down. We are taking two weeks off and hopefully by then I’ll be ready for Elida Fest 2022 in Mercedes, TX.”

Siggno is scheduled as headliners for the inaugural Elida Fest on Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Mercedes, Texas, and Turner hopes to be ready for the event that will benefit music and academic scholarships for the youth of the Rio Grande Valley.

Siggno is an award-winning, chart-topping Tejano band from Santa Rosa, Texas, which released their debut album Al Principio in 2001. The group, known for their unique Rockteño sound, was nominated for Latin GRAMMYS in 2020 including Best Tejano Album for Pelicula Vol. 1 and Best Regional Song with “#Hashtag.” They won a Latin Grammy for Best Norteño Album with Six Pack in 2008.
