Jesse Turner receives treatment after medical scare

Grupo Siggno frontman Jesse Turner needed medical care on the morning of July 4th after the Latin Grammy-winning musician was unable to move out of bed. EMS took Turner to a medical center in Harlingen where he ran into an obstacle in receiving the care he needed for relief.

Turner shared the ordeal via social media. He stated, “You may or may not know, but I have a condition called Spinal Stenosis. I can get hurt by simply getting out of bed, picking up my accordion, a bump on the road. I was scared this time because I couldn’t move out of bed.”

Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spaces within the spine, which can put pressure on the nerves that travel through the spine. Symptoms include back and/or neck pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness in the arms and legs. Treatments are self-care remedies, physical therapy, medications, injections, and surgery.

Emergency medical services were called to transport Turner to a medical center. He commented, “Thank you to (the) EMS crew who came to pick me up and keep me calm, thank you to the nurses and staff at Harlingen Medical Center for being so attentive and to you…..yes you the ‘Physician Assistant’ that came in and did absolutely nothing for me, ‘YOU LACK EMPATHY AND PATIENCE.’ He said I had nothing wrong with me and they just threw me into my sister’s car.”

Turner was able to be cared for by his family physician and received the medical attention he needed. He said, “Thank you to my family Doctor Galvan from Dr. T’s Primary Care for taking the time from his day off to care for me and give me the medical attention I needed. I need an MRI, but I’m walking and feeling a little better today.”

Turner shared he will be ready to perform with Grupo Siggno this weekend in Sealy, Texas, as well as in Philadelphia and New York, where Siggno is on tour with Grupo Bronco.

“Life will bring you obstacles and you have two choices in life…stay down and let it defeat you or get up and fight. Life repays me in a good way regardless of my struggles,” he said.
