Jesse Turner performs at funeral for Xavier Lopez

Siggno frontman Jesse Turner visited Uvalde on Tuesday and performed at the funeral of Xavier Lopezone of the 21 victims killed at the Robb Elementary School shooting on May 24.

“I was reached out to by Xavier’s family that he really liked ‘Ya No Me Importa,’ and if I could come and sing a couple of songs for him, and I did,” Turner tells SBG San Antonio.

The news outlet says the Latin Grammy-winning singer was leaving when Xavier’s family asked him to sing one final song, Xavier’s favorite.

“Can you please do one more song which is his favorite song ‘ Ya No Me Importa,’ and I was like that’s kind of an odd song to sing at a funeral,” said Turner.

The singer and accordionist performed the song and asked the mourners to remember Xavier’s smile every time he sang it. Just imagine his joy.

Xavier was among the 19 children and two teachers killed two weeks ago when a gunman burst into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. The 10-year-old was remembered as a young boy who loved playing baseball for his team, the Blue Jays.

Turner visited the makeshift memorial at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday and shared an emotional photo via Twitter with the caption, “Sin palabras (Speechless).”
