Shelly Lares recognized by Fiesta De Los Reyes

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Tejano music icon Shelly Lares was recognized by Fiesta De Los Reyes for her commitment to the Tejano industry during her 40-year career on Thursday night in San Antonio, Texas at historic Market Square.

Lares commented, “Words cannot express how grateful I am for this recognition. Especially since it’s from my hometown SAN ANTONIO. These past 40 years I have given so much of myself to my genre. I can’t tell you how much I love Tejano music and Tejano music fans. This award also recognizes my commitment, time, energy, and help for our upcoming artists. I take it seriously, cause I believe in the future and in new talent.”

“Little Miss Dynamite” announced last year that she will be retiring from touring at the end of 2022 after the completion of her LMD Legacy Tour, but still plans to be a part of growing the Tejano industry with the next generation of stars.

“Although I won’t be on the road after 2022 I will still be on the sidelines contributing to Tejano music,” she said. “I have other passions I’ll be pursuing as well, but tonight was a beautiful gesture that shows me my hard work and dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
