David Lee Garza has announced the release date for his highly-anticipated new album. Solamente Tu from David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales will be out on February 9, just a few days before his birthday.
The Tejano icon, who will turn 65 on February 15, recorded the album during the pandemic with producer Raul Sanchez and DLG shared the difficulty of recording an album during a pandemic in an interview with Fierro HD‘s “Bo & Jon Show” on the Audacy app.
“When everything shut down we were like, ‘What are we going to do?’ I said let’s get in the studio and do it and some were hesitant to go in the studio to even leave the house especially my brothers,” said David Lee Garza. “So little by little we went in there…and before we knew it we had 10 songs.”
The album includes a mixture of rancheras, cumbias, and features throwback songs of former lead vocalist Emilio Navaira redone as a medley by current Los Musicales lead vocalist Cezar Martinez, plus a Christian song added as a bonus track.
Solamente Tu from David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales will be available for pre-order beginning Monday, February 7 at the official website DavidLeeGarzaYLosMusicales.net and everywhere on Wednesday, February 9.
