Univision Announces Nominations for ‘Premio Lo Nuestro’

MIAMI – Univision announced the nominees for the 34th edition of “Premio Lo Nuestro,” the longest-running Latin music awards show in the world, and the first major music awards show in 2022. Live from FTX Arena in Miami, the anticipated celebration of Latin Music and culture will kick off with the stars arriving on the magenta carpet during the pre-show “Noche de Estrellas” at 7 p.m. EST/PST on Thursday, February 24.

Under the theme “Vive El Momento” (Live The Moment), the 34th edition of “Premio Lo Nuestro” will host a joyful and optimistic celebration of today, the present. The show will bring families together, delivering a spectacle full of memorable musical moments with Latin music’s biggest stars performing their hottest songs for the year, never before seen collaborations, and honoring the music from our past.

Constantly evolving with the new trends in Latin Music, “Premio Lo Nuestro” has added four new awards to the 2022 edition. The new categories include DJ of the Year, Pop – Solo Artist of the Year, Pop-Urban/Dance Song of the Year, and The Perfect Mix of the Year. In the run for the coveted Artist of the Year award are Latin superstars Ángela AguilarBad BunnyCamiloChristian NodalGrupo FirmeJ BalvinKarol GMalumaRauw Alejandro, and Sebastián YatraIntocable received a nomination for Norteño Song of the Year. Fans can vote for their favorite artists starting today through February 7 on PremioLoNuestro.com.

This year, megastars Camilo, Christian Nodal, and J Balvin lead the nominations list with 10 each. They’re followed by Bad Bunny and Karol G with 9; and Calibre 50Carlos RiveraFarrukoJhay Cortez, Maluma, Myke Towers, and Rauw Alejandro with 8. A total of 166 artists have been recognized in 35 categories from the Pop, Urban, Regional Mexican, and Tropical music genres.

The 34th edition of “Premio Lo Nuestro” honors airplay on Uforia radio during the eligibility period (October 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021), as well as on streaming and the assessment of a television committee consisting of Music and Entertainment experts.
