Tortilla Factory announce ‘Recuérdame’ collaboration with Shelly Lares

Tortilla Factoryband leaderAlfredo Guerreroannounced a major collaboration for the GRAMMY-winning group’s next single, “Recuérdame” featuring Tejano icon and the “Queen of Collabs”Shelly Lareswhich will be released on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25).

The song, produced by award-winning hitmakerGabriel Zavala, showcases the voices of Lares and new Tortilla Factory vocalistLia G, who shared her excitement working with “Little Miss Dynamite” in a video posted to social media.

“I can’t even begin to tell you what a dream come true this is to be doing this song with Shelly,” said Lia G. “For me, it’s an honor. I’m super excited.”

Lares also had high praise for Lia G and the collaboration. “This is going to be amazing. I enjoy collaborating but this one is special for so many reasons,” she said. “Singing with her, oh my gosh, I think this is another side of you (Lia G) that fans are going to be able to hear and I can say I love the way our voices really complement each other. You want a contrast when you’re doing collaborations, we have it but it blends well so it’s some kind of weird magic that’s happening but it’s all the glory to God, because for so many reasons he made this collaboration happen.”

Guerrero added, “I’m super excited…my gosh I had goose bumps listening to Lia and Shelly.”

Guerrero has taken leadership of the legendary band after his father, Tony “Ham” Guerrero, passed away in January 2011, developing his own legacy with urban fusion while keeping the classic Chicano sound that Tortilla Factory fans have come to love since 1972.

Lia G joined the three-time Grammy-winning group in 2018. The singer from Burbank, California, grew up in a musically rich family, where her grandparents were singers and her mother a Tropicana dancer and singer. Music has always been a part of Lia’s life and her idol was late Latin music icon Selena.
