South TX Homies premiere ‘Te Vas Ángel Mío’ official music video

South TX Homiespremiered the official music video for the Latin Grammy-nominated group’s latest single “Te Vas Ángel Mío” on Oct. 30.

The mariachi-infused tune is a cover of the classic song written byMarco Antonio Velascoand recorded by many artists includingCornelio Reyna,Ramon Ayala,Michael Salgado,La Mafia, andThe Hometown Boys, just to name a few.

The song and video is “dedicated in memory of our loved ones, especially during the pandemic,” the group said on it’sofficial Facebook page.

“COVID has kind of hit a lot people pretty hard,” South TX Homies accordionistAnthony TreviñotellsTejano Nation. “People have been dealing with a lot of losses and we just fell this song we wanted to put out and we kind of did our own rendition of it. It’s very beautiful song.”

The group burst on the music scene earlier this year with the release of their debut album,It’s Time,receiving a nominationfor Best Tejano Album at the 21stLatin GRAMMY Awardsscheduled for later this month. South TX Homies are currently working on their sophomore album with an expected release date in early 2021.
