The current COVID-19 pandemic has kept Tejano stars at home and many are using that time to record new music, includingRick Fuentes, leader of the next generation ofThe Brown Express.
A duet with his wifeMonica Fuentesfor a segment of theTejano Americaweb series has turned into a single receiving airplay for the duo after the video of the in-home performance received many views via social media.
“The video just took off,” Rick Fuentes toldTejano Nation. “A lot of people were liking it and we got a whole ton of views.”
The pair performed “Me Dan Ganas De Ti”, a song originally recorded by late Tejano music legendLaura Canales.
“We did it our way,” Rick said. “We kind of changed the arrangements a little bit.”
Rick Fuentes added he’s producing an album for his wife’s band,Monica Y Grupo Mezcal, as well as the next album for The Brown Express and many other projects.
