Kate Middleton & Prince William Recreated His Childhood Vacation

Prince William and Kate Middleton are enjoying a quick family getaway before their kids return to school. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted on the Isles of Scilly, an archipelago off the coast of Cornwall in southwest England, with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis this week.

A source close to the Cambridge family told the Mirror Kate and William "decided on a quick getaway before the children return to school" and they "were keen to support our travel industry" after the COVID-19 shutdowns.

According to a locals who caught a glimpse of the vacationing royals, the Cambridges went biking on the island of Tresco together. A bystander told the Mirror, "William and Kate were riding their bicycles, having a laugh. They looked so happy enjoying the weather. I did do a double take. They were really friendly and said hello."

William and Kate decided to visit the Isles of Scilly for a few important reasons, too. William used to vacation there with his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, when he was young. Prince Harry was there, too, of course. The Cambridges reportedly considered traveling to another European country for their getaway, however, but ultimately chose to stay in the U.K. to avoid two weeks of quarantine upon their return.
