2020 Tejano Music National Convention postponed due to current pandemic

The current COVID-19 pandemic has canceled or postponed many Tejano music events and concerts over the past couple of months and as the global crisis continues, a major Tejano music event planned for this summer has been postponed.

Organizers for the 17th annualTejano Music National Convention, or Vegas Tejano Music Week 2020, made the announcement in a press release on April 6.

“For now, out of the safety of our guests (many of which are in the demographic that has been disproportionately affected), artists and staff, we are postponing our July 16-19 event to a forthcoming later date of which we will announce later this month (upon coordination with the Rio and all talent),” said a press release fromIngenuity, organizers of the event. “There are just too many unknowns over the next 4-5 months and as disruptive as this is to you as a fan, everyone’s safety is paramount in making this tough decision.”

Organizers added that every effort will be made to have the same exact artist and talent line-up for the future rescheduled date.

The 17 annual Tejano Music Nation Convention was scheduled for July 16-19, 2020 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The event features Shelly’s All-American Showcase hosted byShelly Lares,David FariasConjuntazzo, Gran Baile, TexMex Fan Expo and much more.
