Cops Arrest Man After Finding Body 'Encased' In Concrete In His Basement

Authorities in Colorado made a disturbing discovery while investigating a shooting and potential homicide at an apartment in a Denver neighborhood.

While detectives with the Adams County Sheriff's Office were searching the home of 38-year-old Russell Montoya Jr., they discovered the body an adult male encased in concrete in the basement. Officials did not identify the victim and only said that he was from the Denver metro area. They believe that he has been dead for at least a week.

Neighbors watched in shock as people in hazmat suits removed the body from the house.

"You literally don't know what's going on at your neighbor's home," Anneshia Lucero told KDVR-TV. "It's an evil world these days, and it's really sad."

Montoya was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. Officials say they are still investigating and that Montoya could face additional charges. He remains locked up at the Adams County jail.
