La Mafia announced a new album and concert during a press conference held in Monterrey, Mexico on Thursday. Band members Oscar de la Rosa and Armando Lichtenberger Jr. officially announce the release of Vozes, one of the most ambitious productions of their entire career.
The disc includes 14 songs and will feature duets with some of the biggest names in music, including Ricky Muñoz of Intocable, Shaila Dúrcal, Cornelio Reyna, Yahir, Ana Bárbara, Pedro Fernández and Sebastián Yatra, and many more.
For the members of La Mafia this album, released under the Universal Music label, is the most important of their career. The album took more than 16 months to come together and each song will have an official music video with an added DVD to the album.
De La Rosa said that there are still artists with whom they hope to work with in the future.
“I hope that Marco Antonio Solís, an artist that I admire a lot, or Alejandro Fernández, or Ana Gabriel, will be part of a next album,” he said.
After revealing the names of the featured artists on La Mafia’s new album and showcasing snippets of each song, De la Rosa announced that La Mafia fans can expect a big surprise as the band announced a concert, Una Noche con La Mafia Voces Tour on September 1 at the Citibanamex Auditorium in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
The concert will feature many of the voices from the new album.
“Yes, we already have several of those who are on this record, but we do not want to reveal them because there is still a lot of time left for the concert and many things can happen by then,” said Lichtenberger.
