Siggno frontman Jesse Turner penned a heartfelt message to his son Jacob Turner on the two year anniversary of a horrific accident that critically injured his son.

On February 8, 2016, Jacob Turner lost control of his vehicle at a high rate of speed on a curve and crashed into a guardrail in Harlingen, Texas around 12:25 a.m., The Valley Morning Star reports. The collision caused the vehicle to catch fire. Turner was the only person in the vehicle.

Jacob, who was also the bass player for Siggno, has been rehabilitating since the accident after suffering traumatic injuries, including severe brain damage.

“My favorite bass player,” Jesse Turner wrote on Facebook. “It’s been 2 years. I’m hoping and praying that with time science, technology, and medical advancement will restore you well enough to be able to speak to me…and if God one day takes me I pray that you are able to speak to your brother and all of those that care for you so they can tell you how much you’re loved. I’m not 100 percent sure if today you can hear me or understand me, but I know God hears me and I know God speaks to you. I battle with your absence everyday yet I don’t deal with depression, I’m not a negative person and I love life, but the truth is very simple…I miss you, Love Dad.”

In an emotional interview with Tejano Nation radio affiliate KXTN in August 2016, Jesse Turner talked about receiving news from doctors to prepare for the worst, his son was in a medically-induced coma because of severe brain damage and there wasn’t much more the doctors could do for Jacob at that point. Jesse knew it was bad when the hospital chaplain came to talk to him and the family.  He also mentioned that Jacob has a long road to recovery and could take many years.
