Tejano music legends Ram Herrera and Johnny Hernandez will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 45th Annual Tejano Music Awards, taking place at the Texas Rodeo Saloon in Katy, Texas, on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Known as “The Outlaw” of Tejano music, Ram Herrera began his iconic career in the early 1980s as the powerhouse vocalist for David Lee Garza y Los Musicales before launching a successful solo journey with his band, The Outlaws. His gold-certified 1986 debut album Most Wanted Man and the 1989 classic The Outlaw solidified his place as one of Tejano’s most influential voices.

Throughout his 45-year career, Herrera has earned Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations, multiple Tejano Music Awards, and delivered chart-topping hits that remain timeless staples of the genre. Despite announcing his stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis in September, Herrera continues to perform and inspire fans with his resilience. He’s also set to perform at this year’s Tejano Music Awards ceremony.

Johnny Hernandez, another pioneer of Chicano and Tejano music, will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. As an original member of The Latinaires and Little Joe y La Familia, Hernandez helped shape the sound and identity of modern Tejano music. His autobiography, The Cotton Picker – An Odyssey, chronicles his incredible journey from the cotton fields of Texas to stages across the country, capturing more than five decades of musical legacy.

From his early collaborations with his brother Little Joe to a distinguished solo career, Hernandez has remained one of the most passionate performers and outspoken advocates for Tejano music and culture.

Fans attending the 45th Tejano Music Awards can look forward to a star-studded night of performances, tributes, and collaborations honoring both legendary and emerging artists. The lineup includes Ram Herrera, Monica Saldivar, Lucky Joe, Da Krazy Pimpz, David Olivarez, The Homeboyz, El Plan, and more to be announced.

Comedian Alex Reymundo will host the event, bringing his signature humor and energy to what’s famously known as “The Biggest Night in Tejano Music.”

This year’s ceremony also marks a major milestone as the awards show moves from its longtime home in San Antonio—the “Tejano Music Capital of the World”—to Katy for the first time in decades.

The evening begins with a red carpet event from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m..

Tables for the event sold out in less than 72 hours, but general admission tickets are still available.
