Mike Gonzalez And The Iconiczz have unveiled an exciting first look at the cover art and teaser for their highly-anticipated new single, “Siempre Te Cuidaré,” set to impact radio on Tuesday, December 2. Written by Grupo Siggno frontman Jesse Turner, the irresistibly catchy cumbia marks the official lead single from the group’s forthcoming debut album under Freddie Records.
Carrying forward the unmistakable spirit and legacy of the late Jimmy Gonzalez, The Iconiczz are quickly emerging as one of Tejano music’s most promising new forces. Band leader Mike Gonzalez, son of the six-time Latin Grammy-winning icon, has dedicated his musical journey to honoring his father’s timeless sound while forging his own artistic path.
Mike’s connection to the music runs deep. He began performing in sixth grade and spent 18 years touring and recording alongside his father, contributing to projects that earned multiple Latin Grammy wins and nominations for Best Tejano Album. After Jimmy G’s passing in 2018, Mike founded The Iconiczz with a mission to preserve and elevate the signature “Jimmy G sound” for a new generation.
“My hope is to produce and release an amazing album just like Jimmy G would do,” Mike shared in a press release. “I’ve been waiting to return to Freddie Records — the same studio where my father and I created so many unforgettable hits. Now, I’m here to continue what we started and build something lasting with The Iconiczz. The legacy continues.”
The group, signed with Freddie Records this past summer, is currently deep in pre-production on their debut album. The project promises fresh, original music infused with the soulful, melodic style fans associate with Jimmy G — plus a few nostalgic surprises longtime listeners will instantly recognize. More details on the album are expected soon.
With the spirit of Tejano legends guiding them, Mike Gonzalez And The Iconiczz are stepping confidently into the future. Their ultimate goal? Nothing less than a Latin Grammy, driven by authenticity, excellence, and a profound sense of generational pride.
Stay tuned — “Siempre Te Cuidaré” is just the beginning.
