Acclaimed singer-songwriter, producer, and musician Juan Treviño is once again being recognized by the Latin Recording Academy, earning a Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Tejano Album for his latest project, 6, released in April. This marks Treviño’s fourth nomination in the category, following previous honors for Camino Al Progreso (2022), Próximo Nivel (2018), and his 2023 win for Para Empezar A Amar. Treviño also earned a Latin GRAMMY Award in 2017 for Best Regional Song with “Siempre Es Así.”
In a recent interview with Houston’s KHOU-TV, Treviño described his unique sound as a “Tejano hybrid,” explaining, “For example, a lot of the norteños just play more traditional. And then I play more like guitar — it’s chord, it’s more progressive.” His creative blend of Tejano, Norteño, and pop-rock influences has made him one of the genre’s most forward-thinking artists.

Treviño expressed his excitement about the nomination, saying, “It’s exciting. You gotta live it like it’s the first time being nominated because it might be the last. That’s the way I look at it.”
The award-winning artist, who has written numerous hits for other Tejano stars while also performing his own material, reflected on his journey and the deeply personal inspiration behind his songs — his wife, Laura, who battled cancer during his first Latin GRAMMY win. “To my surprise, I won. That year my wife was going through cancer treatment, so I really did not celebrate,” he shared.
Two years later, Treviño was nominated again — and won — this time with his wife by his side. “I’ve always said in interviews that all the love songs I write, they’re all for her. She’s my inspiration — la Musa. She’s my inspiration for all the songs,” he said, proudly adding that Laura is now cancer-free.

As Treviño and his wife prepare to head to Las Vegas for the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, the celebrated artist remains grounded and grateful. With 6, he continues to cement his place as one of the most innovative and heartfelt voices in modern Tejano music, connecting deeply with fans through emotion, authenticity, and artistic evolution.
