LOS ANGELES, CA — The GRAMMY Museum will honor one of music’s most beloved icons with a new exhibition, Selena: From Texas To The World, opening January 15, 2026, and running through March 16, 2026. The limited-time exhibit offers an intimate glimpse into the life, artistry, and cultural legacy of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, whose influence continues to resonate across generations.
Curated in collaboration with Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister and President of Q Productions, this special pop-up marks the first official display of Selena’s personal artifacts outside of the Selena Museum in her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas.
“The Quintanilla Family & Chris Pérez are deeply honored to share Selena’s story and legacy with fans in such a meaningful way,” said Suzette Quintanilla. “It’s incredibly special to share these treasured items, for the very first time outside of our Selena Museum, at the iconic GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles.”
A Rare Look at Selena’s Life and Legacy
Among the many highlights of the Selena: From Texas To The World exhibit are several of the superstar’s most iconic pieces, including:
- The outfit worn on the cover of Amor Prohibido, complete with Selena’s signature gold hoop earrings.
- The Lillie Rubin gown worn by Selena at the 1994 GRAMMY Awards, where she won for Best Mexican-American Album — the first time a woman Tejano artist received the honor.
- Selena’s microphone, still marked with her red lipstick, and her personal cell phone.
- Hand-drawn fashion sketches from her teenage years, offering a glimpse into her early design talent.
- Instruments used by her bandmates and family members, including Suzette Quintanilla’s snare drum, A.B. Quintanilla III’s bass, and Chris Pérez’s guitars.
- Selena’s GRAMMY Award and Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award.
A Celebration of Music, Culture, and Empowerment
“Selena and our band were extremely proud to receive a GRAMMY for our live concert,” Suzette continued. “This exhibit is a beautiful tribute to her spirit, her culture, and the unwavering love she had for fans.”
Selena’s artistry extended beyond music — she was also a fashion pioneer, known for her bold, glamorous style and her deep pride in her Mexican-American heritage. Her influence on pop culture, fashion, and female empowermentremains as strong today as it was during her lifetime.
