Taylor Swift Says Filming 'CATS' Was 'The Most Incredible Experience'

Taylor Swift is an artist with a mission. You Need To Calm Down is the latest single from the singer, but that's not all she's up to. She already released the single ME! featuring Brendon Urie and will be releasing her seventh studio album Lover on August 23rd, and that's not even everything...

Swift will be starring as Bombalurina in the CATS Musical Movie adaptation that will be released in December 2019. She will be starring alongside Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, Jason Derulo and more! CATS is about a tribe of cats must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.

"I shot CATS in London and it was the most incredible experience," says Swift. "They built this set, 3.5 times human scale... so that we look as small as cats," continues Swift.

Swift also comments on her recent appearance at the Stonewall Inn in NYC, a Gay bar & National Historic Landmark, site of the 1969 riots that launched the gay rights movement. "It was a surprise from my friend Jesse Tyler Ferguson," says Swift.

"I feel like there are so many of my loved ones, friends and fans... and they have to go through life being critiqued while wondering if the people are them are silently judging them," explains Swift, "...and I think that's really unfair. And I want to make it clear to everyone around me that I don't just tolerate the way you are, I celebrate the way you are."

This appearance comes as Swift launched a petition to the senate for the Equality Act. "While there’s no information yet as to when the Equality Act will go before the Senate for a vote, we do know this: Politicians need votes to stay in office. Votes come from the people. Pressure from massive amounts of people is a major way to push politicians towards positive change. That’s why I’ve created this petition to urge the Senate to support the Equality Act," writes Swift on the petition site.
