Cure For Cancer Could Be Discovered Within One Year Israeli Scientists Say

A team of Israeli scientists say they may be closer than ever to a cure for cancer.

"We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer," Dan Aridor told the Jerusalem Post about a new treatment being developed by his company, Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies Ltd. (AEBi).

"Our cancer cure will be effective from day one, will last a duration of a few weeks and will have no or minimal side-effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market," Aridor said. "Our solution will be both generic and personal."

Of course, any major breakthrough like this requires major evidence that it actually works.

The company calls the treatment, MuTaTo, a cancer antibiotic that uses a multi-vector approach, similar to how HIV patients are treated. The treatment uses a combination of several peptides for each cancer cell, which helps eliminate the cancer cells' chances of going unnoticed by a mutation. Essentially, cancer-targeting peptides for each cancer cell are combined with a strong peptide toxin that kills the cancer cells specifically.

The treatment developed by the Israeli team has reportedly seen success with mice trials and is nearing the end of its clinical trial. The treatment would have to go through multiple trials before it would be available to humans.

The MuTaTo treatment could turn cancer into a manageable, chronic disease and reduce the sickening side-effects of current cancer treatments.
