MILWAUKEE, WIS. — Mexican Fiesta, one of the largest Hispanic festivals in the Midwest for 50 years, is returning to Milwaukee’s lakefront on August 25 – 27, 2023. The festival, organized by the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation, Inc., will feature three days of fun, food, music, and entertainment for everyone.
What to Expect
Mexican Fiesta is a cultural foundation that aims to provide education and cultural events for the growing Hispanic community in Wisconsin. The festival honors the rich history, art, music, and cuisine of Mexico and other Latin American countries.
Visitors can enjoy authentic Mexican dishes such as tacos, enchiladas, tamales, pozole, mole, and more at various food vendors and exhibitors. They can also sample tequila, mezcal, margaritas, and other beverages at the Tequila Tasting Experience.
The festival will also showcase a variety of musical genres such as mariachi, norteño, cumbia, salsa, bachata, reggaeton, and more at four stages. Some of the confirmed Tejano artists for this year include Marcos Orozco, Stefani Montiel, Chente Barrera, JR Gomez y Los Conjunto Bandits, Asalto, Lucky Joe, Angelica, La Calma, and Sunny Sauceda.
In addition to music and food, Mexican Fiesta will also offer educational and cultural activities such as folkloric dance performances, arts and crafts workshops, history exhibits, health screenings, and a community altar. The festival will also host a parade, a car show, a soccer tournament, a 5K run/walk, and a mass.
How to Attend
Mexican Fiesta will take place at the Henry Maier Festival Park (also known as Summerfest Grounds) on August 26 and 27 from noon to midnight. General admission pre-sale tickets are $19 per day and can be purchased online or $24 per day at the gate. Children 8 years old and under enter free with an adult.
