SAN ANTONIO, TX — Performers for the third annual Premios Tejano Mundial were announced on Friday (Feb. 17) by the Tejano Music Recording Academy, organizers of the annual event which will take place over two nights for the first time.
The first night will present “Tejano Honors” on Saturday, March 4, 2023, a tribute event with Lifetime Achievement presentations. One of the honorees is Tejano music icon Shelly Lares, “Little Miss Dynamite.” The doors open at 7 pm and the event starts at 8 pm. The official After Party will follow with performances by Sunny Sauceda y Todo Eso, Destiny Navaira y Remedio, and Asalto.
The second night is the awards ceremony, La Tercera Entrega de Los Premios Tejano Mundial 2023. It is set for Sunday, March 5, 2023, with the Red Carpet at 5 pm and the ceremony starting at 7 pm. The artists scheduled to perform include Monica Saldivar, Asalto, Karla Christina, David Lee Garza, La Calma, Gabriella, Cristelo, Angelica, Ram Herrera, Chase The Night, Destiny Navaira, Gabe Garcia, Ricky Versetti featuring Savannah V, and The Last Bandoleros.

TEJANO MUNDIAL is an award presented by the Tejano Music Recording Academy, a non-profit organization, to recognize achievements in the Tejano Music Industry annually. PREMIOS TEJANO MUNDIAL is an Awards show created for Artists, Creators, and Fans. Tejano Music talent is showcased and awarded. Recognition is also given to the many forms of Tejano Music through the different “Song of the Year” genres. Educators and students are also recognized for their continued efforts to preserve the rich cultural heritage that is “Tejano Music.”

Tejano Music Recording Academy is a 501c (3) non-profit organization founded to preserve the music of the generations that came before and educate the next generations. “Tejano” music is rich in history as it is multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and expands across multiple musical forms. Shelly Lares
Known as “Little Miss Dynamite,” Shelly Lares has been in the Tejano Music industry for forty (40) years. She recorded her first record at age 10 with The Hot Tamales Band. In 2012, Lares started her own record label, Shellshock Records 3. Her sophomore album on her own label De Mi Corázon, was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Best Tejano Album category. Lares’s most successful collaboration is with Elida Reyna and Stefani Montiel as LAS TRES DIVAS. They toured the United States, Japan, Guam, and Korea. The CD collaboration received Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations.
Today, Lares completed her Farewell tour after 40 years of touring. She will continue to mentor upcoming Tejano artists as well as produce musical artists on her record label and newly acquired recording studio. She is also the host of Tejano 360 Network’s TEJANO TODAY
