Pio Treviño cancels upcoming concert after band member hospitalized

Pio Treviñocanceled an upcoming concert in Dallas this weekend after a band member was hospitalized with COVID-19. According to a social media post shared by the legendary singer’s record label,Freddie Records, guitaristJose “Pepper” Gonzalezis in intensive care.

“Hello family and friends. We have cancelled this gig in Dallas Sept 11. Covid has touch the Majic band and families,” said the Facebook post. “Please pray especially for our Guitar Player Jose “Pepper” Gonzalez. He is in ICU and needs your healing prayers. On behalf of Pio Treviño Y Majic band and our families we hope you all will please be safe and take care of yourselves. God bless you all.

Gonzalez is a veteran musician in the industry, beginning his career as an original guitarist with the iconic groupLa Sombrain the 1980s.Tejano Nationwill stay informed on the health status of Gonzalez as more details become available.

Pio Treviño Y Magic were scheduled to perform at Players Sports Bar on Saturday, September 11. No makeup date was announced.

Treviño is currently working on his next album with Freddie Records. It will be the follow-up toEsos Labiosreleased in 2020.
