Javier Galvan remains hospitalized days after fatal crash

The latest update on the recovery ofJavier Galvanwas provided by the award-winning singer’s publicist on Thursday, days after he was critically injured in fatal car crash.

“Tejano and Christian singer Javier Galvan continues to be in critical condition,” said the statement given toTejano Nation. “His family truly appreciates all your love and prayers and ask for you continued prayers for everyone involved.”

Galvan was critically injured in a head-on collision with another vehicle near Winters, Texas on June 13. According to apreliminary report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Galvan was trying to pass several vehicles in SH 153 around 10:20 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle carrying five people. The other vehicle caught fire and three died in the collision including a 7-year-old girl, while two other children were critically injured and sent to a hospital in Abilene. The crash remains under DPS investigation.

Galvan is an award-winning singer, songwriter and founding member of the internationally acclaimed group Fama. After 25 years with the group, he decided to retire in 2009 to spend more time with his family and pursue a calling to serve the Lord as a full-time Christian minister. His ministry work took him throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America and South America. He most recently took his ministry to the airwaves as host of the syndicated radio show “La Fe Cafe con Javier Galvan.”
