Different categories of music are what we visualize in the music scene. L. Rayis a creative artist always writing different songs and singing different various types of music almost every chance he gets from Rock and now Cumbias and yes he knows Tejano too.
Ray Figueroa was self-taught in guitar, vocals, drums, bass, and more. The 57-year-old started playing instruments at the age of 11. He just picked up the instruments and it was like magic. “We as musicians just want to learn something else, something new,” he tellsTejano Nation. “Not everyone can do it!”
Figueroa was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in the “Rock and Roll Capital of the World” and Puerto Rico. He is of Puerto Rican descent, but a true Texan by far and a very talented singer, as well as a talented performer but this, is all new to him. He changed his name to L. Ray( L stands for love, it’s also his mother-in-law’s initial) and began to record his debut song “Eres Tu,” which is written for his wifeKimberly Cantu.
This fantastic singer and guitarist said his writing techniques are starting to just roll out for him like a gift, and that’s a blessing. L. Ray incorporated his visions with award-winning producerHugo Guerrero, known as “The Charanga King.” L. Ray sent the rough draft to Guerrero to produce and master a great Latin Pop Cumbia with a music video filmed bySebastian CastroofLoving Disciples Mediain San Antonio, Texas.

L. Ray wants to explore his roots, bringing his culture to the City of San Antonio by contributing his services and music. His life became incorporated with his entire album that is about love, and how God manifested his gifts into music for his fans all over the world. He’s grateful and says everything happens in God’s time.
