Shelly Lares has released her latest single, “Devuélveme El Corazón,” an emotional cumbia ballad that many people can relate to, according to the Tejano Hall of Famer.

“It’s definitely a vocal/emotional song,” Lares wrote on her Facebook page about the song. “I’ve recorded ballads before, but this is a ballad Cumbia. I know there are a lot of people out there that can relate to it. It came out exactly how I wanted it to and how I heard it in my head and I couldn’t do it without the performance of Sevy Contreras, Mike Molini and my amazing cousin Tony (Lares).”

It’s the first time Lares has recorded her own music in the studio since the passing of her father Fred Lares in July 2016. He was very instrumental in the success of his daughter’s career from the beginning, helping her garner many hits, awards and much more throughout the years.

“Devuélveme El Corazón” is the fourth single released from the 46-year-old singer’s upcoming album. Previously released singles include “Trato Y Trato,” “Es Por Tu Luz” and “Mi Moreno.”

“I feel my work on this CD is on a new level for me,” Lares added. “I’m thankful that my creative juices are flowing and I can’t wait to finish the CD cause it will always be one I cherish.”
