Rising Latina American pop singer Devin Banda seems destined for stardom after her debut album Unstoppable received critical and commercial success.
The San Antonio, Texas-based singer, with music stemming from her Tejano roots, seems to be branching out and blossoming even further with the release of her newest single, “Un Poquito Mas.” The bilingual, danceable cumbia was the product of recording session that featured some of Latin music’s best artists, songwriters and producers.
It all began when Banda auditioned for the new music reality TV show on Fox called The Four, where she met casting director Laura Jane. Jane is no stranger to the music business having toured and worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, such as Enrique Iglesias, Aerosmith, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, the Black Eyed Peas, and Dave Matthews Band, just to name a few. Jane saw a sparkle in the 22-year-old Banda’s eye and witnessed her discipline and ambition. The two became friends and Jane started mentoring her. It wasn’t long before Jane orchestrated a writing and recording session with friends and colleagues including singer and songwriter Manuel “Papayo” Corao, Grammy winner for Best Urban performance for his collaboration with Pitbull, “Echa Pa’lla Manos Pa’rriba”, Leonardo Brooks, Musical Director for Pitbull, and artist and producer Jacin Nagao. By the end of the recording session, Banda walked out with a new hit smash.
“Un Poquito Mas” evokes a style of Tejano, yet with a modern twist that surely will make some noise and make you want to get up and dance. Purchase the song now at the Tejano Nation Amazon MP3 store.
