Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, California unveiled a wax figure of Selena Quintanilla-Perez in August 2016, now the museum will add another wax figure of the Queen of Tejano at its Times Square location in New York City.
Selena’s figure will be on permanent display in the Times Square attraction and is a re-sculpt of the star’s original Madame Tussauds figure launched last August in Hollywood. Madame Tussauds worked in partnership with the Quintanilla family and The Selena Museum to replicate her pose, expressions, make-up and recognizable styling celebrating her iconic concert performance held at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, TX on February 7, 1993, for the album “Selena Live!” which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Mexican/American Album in 1994.
Madame Tussauds are giving Selena fans to be a part of the official unveiling with the “Share Your Favorite Selena Quintanilla Moment” contest on Instagram for a chance to be among the first to see Selena’s figure at its unveiling at Madame Tussauds New York on Friday, June 23rd 2017 and meet her sister, Suzette Quintanilla. The 10 most creative entries will win!
